When the doctor places a stethoscope on the heart area, he/she can hear the beat. Unless a cardiologist or other doctor is listening to or opening up the chest cavity to care for an actual physical heart problem, I tend to feel that my heart and I are on our own most of the time. I may reflect a piece of my heart by telling someone I love them. When I talk about open mindedness, there are two arenas that I am referring to: 1. Intellectual (Open Mind) 2. Social (Open Heart) I have spent a great deal of time on this blog discussing intellectual open mindedness. It is through cultivating this trait that I finally let go of .

I am grateful for the opportunity to share these reflections in this moment. I would love to hear how you would spend your 8 minutes and 46 seconds every day if you were working on anti-racism. Please post a comment on our Facebook, Instagram or Twitter sites, or send us a PM. Be well.   We see this in the life of Pharaoh in the Book of Exodus. Despite seeing the many miracles that God performed through Moses, Pharaoh’s heart became hard. The Lord had directed Moses to take his shepherd’s staff and throw it on the ground in front of Pharaoh. That staff became a snake, presumably a cobra, which was the symbol of ancient Egypt.

This is the gospel of the open heart of God to all; shared in the open heart and open hands of God’s people to share his kingdom on earth. Reflections for Year A, first published in other years in Logos Missalette, have now been published in book form: Gospel Reflections for Sundays of Year A: Matthew, Messenger Publications , € Ten Poems to Open Your Heart is a book devoted to love: to the intimacy of personal love and lovemaking, to a loving compassion for others, and to the love /5(30).
